Are you a musician, singer/songwriter, band who has a fantastic politically relevant song? Would you like to be part of our tour? Music has been part of political movements since the beginning of people getting together. The Away Team is teaming up with like-minded musicians, Wil B of the Political Power of Hip Hop, Eliza Jane (voices of South Park fame), to create a fantastic compilation CD, a cross-section of music to inspire and mobilize.

If you are a musician or songwriter in or near one of our tour cities, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Austin, Dallas, Tulsa, Little Rock, St. Louis, Champaign-Urbana, Chicago, Bloomington, Madison, Milwaukee, Minneapolis:

Step ONE: please fill out this form.

Step TWO: please join the Unconventional Ning site.

Step Three: Once your registration is approved, you can upload songs and videos on the private Ning site, where a committee will listen to your songs.

Step Four: If your songs pass the initial committee filters, you will get your own personal page: created for you on the Unconventional Tour site.

Step Five: Ten songs will be chosen through online polling and judges. If your track is chosen to be part of the compilation CD you will gain greater exposure and distribution as an artist or band - even if you are not part of the touring group. You may be selected to perform as part of the tour if you are in one of the tour cities, and available for the dates.

This tour and CD will also help to create a network of politically minded musicians who can perform at events, and be part of a nationwide roster of artists, We are looking for the best, the artists who are committed, and who believe that we all can make a difference.

All copyright is retained by the songwriter(s). All profits will be shared by the artists on the CD compilation, after production costs.
